The Perfect Slice: LEGO Pizza

A realistic, Pizza Slice featuring a brick-built server and a melted cheese “droop” effect.

My work is available for free, but if you'd like to support me,
you can buy the instructions on Rebrickable or grab one of my fun Beer or Coffee models.
Your support helps me continue creating new designs!

Description

Get ready for a slice of LEGO engineering that looks good enough to eat! This MOC captures the ultimate moment of anticipation: that split second when a piping hot slice is lifted from the pan, the crust yielding under the weight of gooey, melted cheese.

Instead of a standard flat build, I wanted to challenge the rigid nature of LEGO bricks to create a realistic “gravity-defying” curve. By using a sturdy, brick-built spatula as the display stand and clever hinge connections hidden within the crust, the slice achieves that authentic, heavy “droop” without falling apart.

Topped with a classic mix of tomato, ham, and fresh mozzarella, this build is packed with details. It’s the perfect display piece for your kitchen or desk of a Italian Chef, no matter how delicious it looks, Lego doesn’t taste quite like Melted Cheese!

About Me

Hello there! I’m Eduardo Sousa, the builder behind Bird Brick Builds.

I’m an Electronics Engineer by trade, a tech enthusiast by profession, and a LEGO creator by passion. My journey with the brick started in the golden era of the 80s and 90s. While other kids were building houses, I was obsessed with the mechanical complexity of Technic and the futuristic frontiers of Classic Space.

My childhood was defined by the neon-orange saws of Ice Planet 2002, the pulsing lights of Space Police, the magnetic mysteries of M:Tron, and the underwater adventures of Aquazone. That early fascination with how things work and how they click together is exactly what led me to my career in engineering.

I should mention that I am mildly color-blind, which makes my choice of colors for some MOCs an adventure of its own. If you ever see a build with a “unique” color scheme, now you know why—it looked perfectly logical to me!

After a long “Dark Age,” the spark returned in April 2022. A friendly challenge from the marketing team at my company (Fabamaq) to build the company logo in LEGO unlocked a new level of creativity. I realized I could use my engineering mindset to design my own models.

Since then, I’ve been on a mission to turn nostalgia, pop culture, and tech into brick reality. From retro arcade game characters and iconic movie props to personalized Brickheadz and community tributes, I build what I love.

While I do sell premium instructions on Rebrickable to support my hobby, I will always try my best to provide a free version here on this website. This is my way of giving back to the community where I found so much inspiration and learned the techniques I needed to evolve as a builder.

This site is my digital gallery and workshop. Here, you’ll find my MOCs (My Own Creations), high-quality building instructions, and the stories behind every build.

Thanks for stopping by. Now, let’s build something awesome!
