Description
This MOC is a celebration of 20 years of Git. It’s a tool that has been with me from the start of my professional career through every job, every project, and even every LEGO build. Yes, my MOCs live in Git repos. I use LDraw to design them, and it works perfectly with Git. Every change, every tweak, every version is tracked and safe, just like in software development.
When Git hit the big 2-0, I wanted to mark the moment with something personal. This brick-built logo captures more than just a tech symbol. The design has always reminded me of PCB traces and pads, like a subtle nod to the structure and flow that Git brings to every project.
The build itself is clean and minimal, using bricks, plates, and tiles arranged to reflect the iconic logo. It’s straightforward and looks great as a desk display, especially if you live in the terminal like I do.
Git was created by Linus Torvalds in 2005 and has grown into one of the most essential tools in modern development. This model is a small tribute to that legacy and everything it has helped me build along the way.
This MOC is for developers, tech lovers, and anyone who’s ever solved a tough bug with a git log and a little hope. I’m thinking about releasing this build as an open-source LDraw project so others can clone it, customize it, and make it their own. Would you like that? Let me know in the comments.
And if you’ve got ideas for more tech-inspired builds, I’m always open. Maybe the Docker whale or a command line prompt? Let’s keep the ideas flowing.
Now go ahead, grab your bricks, fire up your LDraw, and git merge this MOC into your collection.
